ATP Purchases Five New Flight Training Aircraft

Jacksonville, FL – June 21, 2011– ATP recently purchased five aircraft to add to its already impressive training fleet. These additional airplanes—three multi-engine Piper Seminoles and two single-engine Cessna 172s—will help accommodate the current increasing demand for ATP’s Fast Track Airline Career Pilot Program and Mountain State University’s ATP Pilot Operations degree program, for which ATP provides all the flight training. With these aircraft, ATP will have a total fleet of 88 Piper Seminoles, 51 Cessna 172s, five Diamond DA40s and a CitationJet.

ATP’s Airline Career Pilot Program provides the training airlines look for in pilot applicants. ATP students get the competitive edge with airline-oriented flight training at a fixed cost in the shortest time frame. They fly ATP's Piper Seminole fleet coast-to-coast in a scheduled, monitored, airline-style environment. This experience offers more career opportunities than possible through any other flight school, FBO or academy.

The ATP Pilot Operations Degree program from MSU offers the first aviation bachelor’s degree program with online coursework directly integrated with a standardized flight training curriculum available nationwide. Designed for future professional pilots, MSU and ATP students build over 100 hours of multi-engine Piper Seminole flight experience in a coast-to-coast, airline-style environment.

ATP Vice President of Flight Operations Jim Koziarski says “ATP has chosen the Piper Seminole and Cessna 172 aircraft time-and-again because of reliability, compatibility with our existing fleet, and, of course, ATP’s commitment to providing high-quality flight training and experience to pilots of all certification levels.”

In 1984 ATP pioneered cost-efficient, accelerated, multi-engine flight training with an emphasis on pilot career development. Today, ATP’s Airline Training Programs prepare graduates for airline pilot and corporate pilot careers with nationwide flight experience in the largest, multi-engine training fleet. Advanced jet training transitions these pilots from light twins to modern regional jets in CRJ-200 flight training devices. With thousands of graduates who have completed airline training on time and on budget, airlines come to ATP first to meet their demand for pilots. ATP flies over 7,500 hours to provide more than 300 FAA pilot certifications each month at 25 locations nationwide.
